She's sure her age puts her out of reach. He's sure his inexperience does the same. Somehow, that doesn't stop either of them from falling.
Vita Rush hasn't trusted anyone with her heart in two decades. Getting her first tattoo is supposed to be a simple, solo milestone. Instead, she can't stop thinking about the lizardman behind the needle.
Severin Lam has spent his whole life waiting for the one woman meant to be his. At forty, he's mostly made peace with the idea that she may never come. Then a curvy silver-haired client comes in for a tattoo, and long after it's finished, he still hasn't shaken her from his mind.
Even though Vita has convinced herself the age gap makes anything between them impossible, she can't stop replaying the way he made her feel in his chair. And although Severin has told himself a woman like her would never want an inexperienced man his age, he can't stop hoping their paths cross again.
Vita keeps telling herself the age gap makes this impossible. Severin keeps telling himself she'd never want him anyway. Will a friend's wedding finally push them past their excuses?
