A Story by

This adventure unfolds in America’s rugged but enchanting Southwest.

Mathurin saves a stinky, unkempt man named Rufus from the Indians. They had him pinned down near Frijole Canyon in Arizona.

What is Mathurin’s reward for the good deed? Rufus shoots him in the back, steals his money and horse, then leaves him for dead.

Mathurin hangs onto life by a thread and after he partially recovers, the chase is on. He had been on his way to set up a ranch near Cedar City, Utah, but he had to put that dream on hold in hopes of settling accounts with Rufus.

The chase takes him into southern Colorado, the location of the Pueblo Indian ruins called Mesa Verde.
