Tuscan Bloodline
(2025)(The ninth book in the Rick Montoya Italian Mystery series)
A novel by David P Wagner
Rick Montoya is Back
Is it asking too much to discover why someone suddenly left his small Tuscan town and fled to America? It sounds like the perfect case for translator and amateur sleuth Rick Montoya. The problem is, it all happened a hundred years ago.
Rick's Italian-American college buddy Rocco Monti wants to cut through all the family lore and find out why his great grandfather had to skip town in a hurry. Was he in some kind of trouble? Was a young lady involved? Could there really have been a murder? Rocco flies in from America and the two friends head to the walled village of Lucignano to dig into the past and find out the truth. As they do, Rocco finds out more about his Italian roots than he expected.
At the same time, back in Rome, Rick's girlfriend, art fraud investigator Betta Innocenti, has been assigned a unique case: the theft of a priceless Etruscan sculpture. The action bounces between Tuscany and Rome.
As with all the books in the Rick Montoya series, the reader is treated to Italian culture, history, and food while the intriguing mystery plays out to its surprising end.
