It seems to Rigel that being small is the worst thing in the world. The fashionable bees in Buzzle Hive poke fun at her, and she cannot even make a respectable buzz with her little wings. So she works hard to bring in nectar and tells her troubles only to Frick, the frog. But one day she accepts an invitation to the hummingbirds' party and is astonished at what she finds out from their High Queen. Finally, after a terrible storm and a lean winter, Rigel comes to know how a little bee can truly be "very like a star."
