Murder Before Willowbrook
(2026)(A book in the Willow Sisters Cozy Mystery series)
A Story by Elanor Whitcomb
A fresh start, a friendly town… and a murder no one wants to solve.
Margaret Willow came to Maple Hollow by accident.
Divorced and searching for a fresh start, she’s stranded by a blown tire. She discovers an injured stray dog hiding behind the local diner. Hours later, a man is dead in the same alley.
Police ruled Caleb’s fatal fall an accident after an argument. Diner owner Earl insists Caleb stormed off in anger. Tessa backs him.
Maple Hollow seems eager to close the case.
Margaret isn’t.
A buried wallet. Hidden cash. Stories that feel rehearsed.
The more she gets to know the town’s friendly faces, the clearer it becomes that someone is protecting more than community pride.
Is it Earl who was seen arguing with the victim over wages, Tessa, who owes him money, or one of the Diner’s regulars who always saw him as an outsider?
As she gets closer to the truth, she realises someone doesn’t want her asking questions.
With only a wounded dog at her side, Margaret must solve this case fast before she becomes the next victim.
