Jude is a fair man who believes everyone should have a shot at second chances, especially when falsely accused. He is trying to get all the heightened emotions that are going around regarding Helen to calm down. This crowd might test his long-suffering attitude though, as he stands by Helen to try and weather the brewing storm.
