Sophie was delighted when she heard that her great uncle had left her a cottage in an unspoiled region of France. But when she visited her inheritance she realised that perhaps it wasn't as wonderful as it seemed. And not the least of her problems was how to deal with her nearest neighbour, the arrogant Fabien de Cressac, whose word appeared to be law in the surrounding countryside. Perhaps it was time that someone taught him a lesson. But it turned out to be Sophie who had a lot to learn.
