Karen Marsden, an accomplished pianist, takes over a cottage to be nearer to the girls' college where she gives music lessons. One day in the garden she is fascinated by a melodious male voice singing a delightful song. She discovers that her neighbour, Keith Delmont, is blind, but he finds happiness composing songs. Karen helps him by writing out the music and gets her brother-in-law, who produces plays, to take an interest in him. Eventually, Karen and Keith find themselves giving a duo performance in Lester's Summer Show.
