Patrick:
I prayed in vain that the surgeon’s name belonged to someone else. A face I didn’t know. A body I didn’t still crave twenty years later. No way was my past about to walk through this door until he did. And the look on Cain Rosemont’s face tells me I may have escaped his hold once, but it won’t be happening a second time.Cain:
When I push open the door to the exam room, my biggest regret is staring me in the face. I broke the man in front of me in more ways than one because I was terrified he’d break me first. Patrick Miller never knew the power he held over me, but if I’m not carful, he’ll discover it now. And this time, neither of us will make it out unscathed.
What You’ll Find Inside:
* Second Chance
*Forbidden Romance
*Doctor x Patient
*Hurt/Comfort
*Enemies to Lovers
*Guaranteed HEA (but it is hard-won)
If Cain Were Able is a novella that crosses three series. We first meet Patrick Miller in Up In Flames (Book 4 of the Bring the Heat series). We meet him again in Meltdown (Book 1 of the Ricochet Ridge Series). Patrick was never meant to have a story of his own. I had only ever intended for him to be the villain, but he demanded that his side of the story be told.
Although If Cain Were Able can technically be read as a standalone, it will make the most sense if you read Up In Flames and Meltdown first. It’s best to hate Patrick just a little before reading his story.
