I survived my first Vault. Two of my companions chose foolishly and didn't.

Now I'm a Wizard on the rise, with a growing name in the Guild. I have everything I wanted, and everyone knows the right story of how I got it.

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the reward for my success is greater challenges. Lies must be buried as I construct my own story. I have magic to master, coin to earn, a household to run, and allies to cultivate.

My mentor is starting to see me as more than his errand boy, and I'm not sure where exactly he stands. And still, always, the woman who crossed into this world with me is out there, watching. In all my plans, I must account for the possibility that she blames me for her own mentor's death and is willing to do whatever it takes to avenge her.

For, as always, despite the best-laid plans, even the wise cannot account for every detail. I failed to account for one: the dagger at my belt, and if I don't see to it, it could drown me.

But perhaps drowning, at least in this instance, buys me opportunities I would not otherwise have.

Either way, the answers lie a sea away, with powers beyond my own conception. And the rewards will be great—assuming I can survive the journey.
