Delanie ‘Lanie’ Delphine expects a debaucherous hunting weekend when she leaves the set of her next project with a hot real estate investor. What she doesn’t expect is that their host will be a man she’ll never forget.

Basil ‘Baz’ Osgoode is the heir to a Scottish barony and a big player in London’s real estate game. He’s a forty-something bachelor, but his father grows tired of the idea that he’d leave his estate knowing Baz is incapable of settling down and producing an heir. He gives his son an ultimatum. Either Baz marries or he names Baz’s awful younger brother as his heir.

When Baz catches Lanie with his younger friend, he isn’t bothered. But he’ll do anything for a chance to even ask her out—including pay off his friend. Lanie plays hard to get until she realizes the man she seduced is the son of the terrible person who stole her family’s estate and put her mother out on the street years before.

The problem? Baz is a loner who hates television. He has no idea who Lanie is. And when she introduces herself as Lanie Day, he doesn’t put two and two together. Lanie leans into the ruse, further seducing him in hopes of bringing him to his knees. She loves torturing an older billionaire. He thinks he can scare her off by bringing her to London’s Club Vesper, a notoriously posh private members club, but she only doubles down, further torturing him. He doesn’t want to share her with anyone, suddenly.

But by the time Baz realizes who Lanie is, he’s stuck. She’s part of the game and he cannot get out or risk losing the estate. And Lanie isn’t sure she wants to go. After all, if she leaves, she will lose the estate. If she stays in the marriage of convenience and produces a mail heir, Baz tells her the estate will be willed to the child and she can take It back for her family. She agrees to stay, even if she shouldn’t.

And when he calls her his wife, Lanie’s heart swoons.

But when Baz realizes what he wants, it may be too late.
