WHO KILLED CHARLIE BEALE?

Everybody loves Charlie Beale, the head teller at a local bank. What nobody knows is that Charlie is
not the person he appears to be. That is, not until he ends up at the city morgue, where Dr. Fitzmorris discovers that Beale has been hiding a startling secret. A secret that shocks even her. It doesn’t take much to recognize that he was murdered. But what to do? If the truth about Charlie is made public, the reporters will create such a scandal that the real tragedy of the murder will be lost in the excitement of the juicy gossip.

Once again Dr. Maggie finds herself up to her ears in an investigation, taking her away from the morgue and her work with the dead. Then a suspicious man from Beale’s past turns up. Someone who knew his secret and had motive and means.

Yet even as the pieces of the puzzle seem to be falling into place, a second murder by the same method, takes place. There must be a connection, but what could it be? As bits of evidence surface, Maggie seeks out and talks to possible suspects, each one seemingly innocent, causing her to be unaware that she's getting close to danger. Until it’s too late, and she is trapped in a situation where there is no way out.
