Autumn is in the air in the town of Glennon. All but the very last of the apples have been picked from the orchard but fall colors dominate everywhere. That includes both the scenery as well as the clothing purposely selected to match the season. Though many are ready to move past the illness that plagued the area, trouble is brewing at the normal school and beyond. As Delia and Otis forge a new bond with a common goal to reveal those who wish the town of Glennon harm, she finds her attention pulled in many directions. It isn’t just the melting ice of a certain normal school principal that claims her thoughts. A shocking death has her racing to discover the true identity of the killer. Knowing that failure means harm may come to a dear friend next, Delia tempts fate to face a dangerous foe.
Wesley Glennon can’t deny his attraction to a certain typewriting teacher no matter how hard he tries. Unfortunately, his attempts to move past their current upset grow complicated. In addition to becoming embroiled in another murder, Delia is also convinced that the safety of the town named for him is in question. When he and Delia find themselves at opposite sides of another argument, he realizes it is up to him to reveal the truth no matter how painful she may find it.
