Nino spent twenty-five-years living on the frozen surface after the meteor’s impact. He saw few people during that time, so when strangers appeared, he was anxious to meet them, if only to talk to someone.
However, the people kept appearing and with them came trouble. Kyix and her band of marauders swept into his life and took over the fortress where he lived. They wanted Nino to fall in line with their rules and join their band, however, Nino craved the freedom he had before. To prevent him from leaving Nino is taken prisoner.
When he escapes, he discovers a group of people who arrive from a spacecraft. They are trying to clear a cave so they can move in. When an alien ship attacks the people, Nino must make a choice. Either let the aliens take the people, knowing what they will do with them, or return to Kyix and her people in hopes of soliciting their help, risking his freedom in exchange.
