The Writer's Challenge & Passion

Any writing of fiction presents untold challenges, but some challenges the writer must put to himself to succeed. The most important challenge to oneself as a storyteller or novelist is to make the story compelling, so compelling that the reader will, for the duration of the story, be abducted by it, the author making the reader a complete participant.

Secondly, the author must find his passion. What moves the author to not merely conceive of characters and a story to fit them, but to stick with a story for the duration of a novel, and then to replenish to do it over again.
