Stone Wallace Chance Gambel is a Witness Seeker, searching for witnesses to crimes who might testify in trials held in the frontier territories of the Southwest, circa 1885. He teams with a Mexican named Francisco Velasquez to search for the vicious gang leader Silvano Ramos, who brutally murdered Francisco’s sister. But Chance is unsure: is Francisco friend or foe?
