James Marshal, a former soldier and PMC, is now a husband and father. His violent past is seemingly behind him. But his wife, Grace, is away on holiday for a week.

Marshal encounters his old neighbour, Flora Gayle, who tells him about the death of her teenage son at the hands of a local drug dealer, who escaped prosecution.

Marshal has time to look into things. Time to kill.

The ex-para gathers intelligence, with the help of Daniel Ambler (a novelist and agent for MI6), on the criminal organisation supplying the gang - before confronting those responsible.

Blood will be spilled, questions will be answered, as Marshal works his way up the gang's chain of command and uncovers a network involving the capital's mayor and police commissioner.

But there will be no hiding place. Justice will be served, through the barrel of a gun.

Recommended for fans of Lee Child, Stephen Leather and Robert Crais.
