An old painting gifted to the museum reminds security guard Dave of a place where he stayed one summer in the distant past. But he can’t quite remember where it was – or what happened during his time there. The canvas of his memory is strangely blank.
As he walks through the museum on his nightly rounds, he’s drawn first to the painting, and then into the painting. Revisiting a summer that was filled with sunshine and the golden hope of youth, he begins to think that maybe he can change his present life for the better.
But then the memories of what really happened that summer begin to surface, and the painting turns dark and deadly as he realises the past has a way of exacting its terrible retribution…
