The Simon Doakes Thrillers: Books 1-4
(2026)(A book in the Simon Doakes series)
An omnibus of novels by Mark Yarwood
Four brutal and gripping crime thrillers from the author of the DCI Peter Moone thrillers and the Sean Faint books.
In the heart of Australia, something dark is stalking the outback.
Simon Doakes, ex-SAS soldier and now a mercenary for hire, takes whatever jobs keep him moving. But when he discovers the Anderson family, his latest employers, are drug-running thugs, he turns on them, destroys their operation, and disappears into the outback.
Then a news report stops him cold. A girl called Kaylee, the daughter of his ex-girlfriend, has gone missing. The police are lost, the trail is cold, and whispers grow of children vanishing into the wilderness, taken by a man known only as Muzzle.
Doakes soon learns that Muzzle isn’t working alone. He’s a predator backed by a sponsor, someone wealthy, protected, and untouchable. Doakes doesn’t care; he won’t stop until both men are buried and Kaylee is safe.
But he isn’t just chasing a killer, he’s unraveling a dark network built to stay hidden. If he wants to save Kaylee, he’ll have to outthink, outfight, and outlast them all. As the trail grows colder, Doakes is dragged into the shadows, facing his darkest reckoning yet. And where one wrong move means Kaylee disappears forever…
Across these first four gripping and explosive thrillers in the Simon Doakes series, Doakes tracks down a child abductor and the shadowy organisation he works for. But even though he comes up against violent criminal gangs and serial killers, Doakes refuses to back down. He'll do anything to rescue a young girl and get justice.
These books are fast-paced, violent, incredibly gritty and full of relentless action.
