Agnes Alexander first western historical romance was published in 2012, She had written books in the romantic suspense and cozy mystery genre. She thinks her childhood influenced her to begin writing in the western genre. When children, her brother and Agnes spent many hours riding corn stalk horses over the hills and hollows of her grandparents' farm playing cowboys. Often they'd shoot it out with outlaws with their tree limb rifles or crooked root guns. Again they'd round up their cattle, which most often was their grandma's one milk cow, and pretend to herd them into the pasture.
They'd steered clear of their grandpa's mule, though He had a tendency to kick so they regulated him to being the mount the rustlers or other bad guy rode in on.
Her father, who after retirement read as many as five western books a week until his death, often told her to write a western. She decided to try it and She can only say, now that She's started writing in the genre, She thinks She's found her place in the writing world.
Though Fiona's Journey was her first western historical it was wasn't her first novel. She has 20 previous books published. (Some of them are now out of print.)She lives in her home state of North Carolina, but has been fortunate enough to travel extensively in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
She's visited 48 of the 50 states and has the other 2 on her bucket list. When She's not reading or writing She enjoys making jewelry, going to the movies, and is especially happy when She's spoiling her two grandchildren, Trent and Blaire.
