She chooses to be mean to Hannah and Ruby right from the start, and she tells the other children not to make friends with them either. Hannah has some difficult decisions to make, and the hardest one of all is choosing to stand up for herself. No one deserves to be treated badly - everyone deserves respect, and Hannah learns that every soul is valuable.
