Retribution (Special Forces
(2026)(The second book in the Shadow Veil series)
A novel by Chrislyn Alexander
Diplomatic immunity made him untouchable. Sloane Bennett is about to prove otherwise.
Sloane escaped Damian Kessler once.
She rebuilt her life, reclaimed her voice, and found a new purpose with Shadow Veil, an elite rescue organization that goes where official channels can’t to bring people home.
Then an international trafficking investigation leads straight back to the husband who nearly destroyed her.
This time, Sloane isn't running from him and she isn't alone.
Supervisory Special Agent Tanner Chatsworth leads the FBI’s elite Fly Team, deploying across borders when high-risk cases demand a fast, specialized response. When his latest investigation collides with Shadow Veil, he finds himself working alongside a fiercely determined woman with secrets she has every reason to protect.
He knows trusting her off-the-books team could compromise the case.
Getting close to her could compromise everything else.
As the attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore, Sloane’s past and Tanner’s investigation collide. Damian still has influence, connections, and no intention of letting his carefully constructed life fall apart—especially at the hands of the woman he once controlled.
Taking him down will require Sloane to face everything she escaped and trust Tanner with the parts of herself she has kept guarded for years.
Because Damian knows she’s coming for him.
And he’ll destroy anyone standing beside her before he lets her win.
She survived him once. Now she intends to make him pay.
Genre: Romantic Suspense
