Melanie Abrams teaches writing at UC Berkeley and received her MFA from UNC Greensboro. She's married to the novelist Vikram Chandra and they live with their daughter in Oakland, CA. Her novel, Playing, has been acquired in Italy, France, Germany, India, and Israel.
