Appointment in May

Dave is hired by a lawyer in a divorce case to locate the client's estranged wife, who is reluctant to let her husband know where she is living. With the help of his assistant Lisa, it doesn't take long for them to track her down. The husband, an angry and belligerent man, is pleased with the quick results and tells Dave to stay on her trail. Easy money, until the wife dies in a traffic accident. Or maybe, not an accident. In the tradition of Ross Macdonald, things are not what they seem and the answer lies in the past.
