The Chelbeck Charger

The spring of 1816 finds wealthy Sir Ralph Marwood once again reluctantly fixed in town to find husbands for his daughters Emily and Sophia. When a chance encounter throws the dashing Piers Aubery in their path, he and his younger daughter Sophia are delighted. But Emily, who appears to be the prime object of Piers's attentions, cannot like him. She remains suspicious of Piers and his intentions, and her efforts to prevent a match are further complicated by the advent of the Chelbeck Charger.
