When her father fails to return from exploring a newly discovered cave system, Miranda Hartford is determined to find the reason for the delay. She confronts the owner of the property where the cave is located and demands his help in locating her father. Despite his insistence that he has more important things to occupy his time-- the first and foremost of them are the rustlers that are stealing his cattle- he has no recourse except to accompany this feisty beauty who claims to be an experienced spelunker.
But, inside the huge cave system Miranda found more than she had bargained for. A stumble in the dark sent her plunging into the unknown, and the rumble of falling rocks, trapped her in a dark cavern with Rogue McLaren as her sole hope of survival.
Rogue had hoped finding the professor wouldn't take long, since his ranch left him no time to search for tenderfoots. But now he found himself trapped behind a pile of rocks, deep in a cave system that he'd had no knowledge of before the professor arrived and asked permission to explore it.
And to top it all off, there was something about the copper-haired bookworm that had captured his attention. And he found that he would do anything to make certain she was safe. He had to admire her bravery, the way she coped with the absolute darkness in the cave, and he was determined to find keep her safe long enough to teach her the finer points about being a woman.
It was Rogue's plan to teach this feisty spelunker a lesson. Before their journey in the cavern was over, he planned to use it to his own advantage. He would court the woman, with words and with kisses, so that when they reached the surface again she would have no other thought than to stay with him forever!
