Wifey Redux

(2015)
A Novella by

"Wifey Redux," however, is a domestic story. If you still haven't peeked, here are the first words of the first irresistible six-line sentence: "This is the story of a happy marriage but... " A universe (and a lot of truth) lies in that "but." The narrator next concedes that yeah yeah, he knows, no one wants to read about a happy marriage, and he promises some manner of unstated delinquency that will end with the police banging him against the hood of a squad car. It's a go-for-broke gambit that had me hooked the first time I read it. - Ethan Nosowsky
