Bardolatry

(2006)
A Novella by

Sometime in 2001 I read an article that mentioned a Shakespeare conference. A longtime Shakespeare buff - I've read most of the plays - the thought immediately occurred to me, “How cool!” And the next thought: Why not write a story, set at a Shakespeare conference, that in one zippy piece employed all the genres Shakespeare used: comedy, drama, history and mystery? The result is “Bardolatry,” arguably the quirkiest piece I've ever written. Bardolatry, by the way, is a real word.
