Legend says the Pumpkin Man walks Garforth every thirty years. This Halloween, he’s not trick-or-treating.
A lit pumpkin on a doorstep. A masked figure staring into a doorbell camera. And by morning, someone is dead.
DCI George Beaumont knows the town’s legend. He doesn’t believe in monsters, not the ones that hide under your bed, but he does believe in patterns. As Halloween closes in and the bodies mount, he realises that the killer isn’t choosing victims at random. Someone is working through a list. But who is it? And why?
With a six-month-old at home, a senior officer who wants a neat press briefing, and a town that has started to whisper, George is working against the calendar.
The Pumpkin Man has waited a long time for this night. George intends to stop him before it ends.
Set within the suburbs of Leeds, West Yorkshire, this fast-paced British detective novel is a crime thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.
The Folded Letter is the twenty-eighth book in the Detective George Beaumont thriller series.
