Ace (Police and Fire
(2026)(The third book in the Badges of the Capital series)
A novel by Misha Blake
KILL AUTHORIZED: JESSE ALEC LEWIS
The words that have captured the attention of tech wiz Alexandra Ivan. As FBI's former Cyber Crime division’s tech, Alex has seen the worst of humanity while diving deep into the most obscure corners of the dark web for malicious threats. When she comes across a hit on the man she thought she'd never see again, Alex knows she must warn him. But how does she alert the person who has made it crystal clear that he doesn't want to see her ever again?
FBI Special Agent Jesse ‘Ace’ Lewis has always known that the remnants of his past as one of the Marine Corps' most elite sniper would eventually come after him for retribution. That not only happens sooner rather than later, but it also brings him face to face with the woman he spent the last five years resenting.
Staying alive comes first. For that Jesse needs to work closely with Alex while his simmering anger toward her must take the back seat. There is only one way out of this—they must work together even though their history casts a dark, hefty shadow on the former Marine's ability to trust the tech.
The deeper they dive and the closer they get to catching the enemy, the harder it becomes to fight against the overpowering feelings. Hard truths come out and secrets get uncovered.
There's only a fine line between hate and love. Jesse and Alex will soon learn just how thin because attraction and tension become more overwhelming with each breathing moment. So does the imminent danger.
