Sierra Lavotini is a knockout, and she's got talent. An exotic dancer and erstwhile amateur sleuth with a daring approach to whatever life throws at her, Sierra won't let anyone push her around. Sierra is the headliner at the Tiffany Club in Panama City, Florida. This particular encounter with trouble begins when she tries to help her friend Denise find out what happened to her dog, Arlo, who has vanished. In his place Denise has a ransom note demanding $100,000 for Arlo's safe return. Of course, someone as worldly as Sierra deduces that there's more to this "dognapping" than meets the eye. And she's right: A quick trip to Denise's reveals a dead man in her bed. Quicker than you can say 38DD, there's more trouble than even Sierra is used to, thanks to both the cops and those who probably did in the dead guy. Faced with such dogged opponents, Sierra has no choice but to dig in her five-inch black stilettos and find the killer on her own.

Genre: Mystery

Praise for this book

"From the first sentence, THE MIRACLE STRIP grips you by the scruff and zips you along.... Humor abounds, dialogue rings true, and the situation is outrageous. A triumph of a first novel." - Clay Harvey

"Fans of JANET EVANOVICH should love The Miracle Strip, which has my highest recommendation." - Jeremiah Healy

"Nancy Bartholomew is a major new talent in the mystery field. Her characters crackle to life and her tale moves without a false note and at a pace that should be the envy of many well-known writers in the field who have forgotten that character, story, and pace are all essential. Nancy is terrific." - Stuart M Kaminsky
