Buckham is a pretty little village on the banks of the river Thames. Joanna has lived there all her life. Her father, Jock, is a self-made man with a highly successful luxury car dealership and the family home is McAllister Towers, built by Jock to celebrate his status. But now her father is dead and Joanna's privileged life is about to be turned upside down. First her best friend, Laura, marries the man that Joanna has always been in love with. Then her father's business goes bust and Joanna's comfortable existence comes to an end. Joanna knows she must get a job and learn to stand on her own two feet but what does the future hold?
