Magic has rules

The dragon Conclave enforces those rules, getting human investigators to aid them.

Even at Christmas.

No one knows magic exists, except for the humans who can wield it and artifacts scattered around the world. Emily is one of those people, and has been assigned the task of helping an old, wise, dragon called Somerset with making sure no one breaks the conclaves rules.

But Somerset is about the size of a small cat and has the sense of self importance of the great British aristocracy. Can Emily navigate his opinions with the company she finds herself in?

It’s almost Christmas and the nearby city of Bath has begun it’s annual Christmas market tradition. Not everyone is glad to have one of Europe’s largest and best markets taking over the city for seventeen days, however.

When sellers at the market go missing Emily and Somerset suspect that magic is involved. Someone wants the market to end, and so tragically that no one ever feels safe to come back.

Can Emily find out how the market is being sabotaged, reverse the spell and save everyone? Or is this too clever a magic scheme for her to unravel?

The Christmas market is the busiest time of the year and finding the culprit is like looking for a single rotten pine needle on a giant Christmas tree. Will the market go down in history as the most tragic, or can it be saved for another year?

Read this special Christmas story, in the world of Somerset and Worthington: Paranormal Investigators, to find out.
