The Bungalow: Part 1

(2026)
(The first book in the Bungalow series)
A Story by

When my wife and I split, I assumed that was it: the future was bleak and things would only get worse. My job prospects had dried up a while ago and I was destined become the loser side character in one of my worst screenplays. I escaped LA to lick my wounds, ending up at the ramshackle beach bungalow that my grandfather had built with only my car and a lifetime of regret.

After a chance encounter at the grocery store with my gorgeous neighbor,
Courtney, I start to wonder if my assumption was incorrect. Things only get stranger when my adult son convinces me to take in his ex-girlfriend, Kinsey, who needs a place to stay and a firm hand to guide her.

If I can keep it together, I might be able to make this work, but things almost never go the way we plan.

This is part one of The Bungalow, a steamy slice of life series about a guy who gets himself out of a rut and creates a new life that's better than any blockbuster.
