Casserole Over in Your Grave
(2025)(Book 29 in the Newfound Lake Cozy Mystery series)
A Story by Virginia K Bennett
When the town librarian is an avid mystery and true-crime reader, the local law enforcement must need a book-smart assistant like her, right?
Thanksgiving is a time for appreciating what you have, and Rebecca Towne is most thankful for her family and her community. Giving back to local businesses that support her library is always on her mind, and this year, she’s volunteering with her stepdaughters at the best bakery on Newfound Lake, Fundamental Elements.
When one of the bakery employees gets injured, Rebecca steps up to make sure the annual pie sale is a success. Her day starts well before sunrise and ends after sunset, leaving her heart full even though her tank is empty. The final order of pies requires delivery, so Rebecca offers to drop them off on her way home. What she finds is a scene straight from Halloween, though the decorations are unfortunately too realistic. With all emergency crews required, the scene has more occupants than usual: both dead and alive.
Will Rebecca be able to work around the holiday to unbury the truth, or will the dirt surrounding this case squash her chances to baste the criminal in their own lies?
Genre: Cozy Mystery
