When the town librarian is an avid mystery and true-crime reader, the local law enforcement must need a book-smart assistant like her, right?

Life can feel like running a marathon on a treadmill with no water breaks, but never more so than during the holidays. With obligations for her stepdaughters as well as herself, Rebecca Towne has a never-ending list of things to do, places to drive, cookies to bake and commitments to fulfill. While she tries not to take on more and more each year, it seems to be inevitable. As the town’s librarian and amateur sleuth, Rebecca has always been committed to supporting her community, so what’s a month with no sleep after all?

Before she goes all bah humbug, Rebecca asks around about a holiday happening on Roundtop Mountain called the Luminary Hike to Inspiration Point. Looking to bring joy and peace back into her life, Rebecca pencils in the Friday-night event. What she didn’t predict was the gift of a new mystery that needs to be solved before she can celebrate Christmas with her family.

Will the corpse be left out in the cold on a silent night, or will clues guide Rebecca’s way to tie up this crime with a bow, even if it is someone’s last Christmas?
