Historical Fiction taking place in the early 1800's. Author's Note: The description of the Prince Regent's hesitation and anxiety over the fete to celebrate the Regency are correct, and it actually took place on July 19, 1811. His passionate feelings for Lady Hertford are full recorded, and many historians were misled by the slanderous cartoons of the period into believing that she was his mistress. She was extremely unpopular, and during the riots which took place at the time of the Queen's trial the rioters surged round her house and broke all the windows. However, she retained her virtue, but was exceedingly upset when she was supplanted in the Royal affections in 1820 by Lady Conyngham.
