Wing commander Fielding had promised a fellow officer, before his death, that he would visit Cynthia Standish. Cynthia who had caused his friend such distress. They met, the dislike seemed mutual and they parted. On the way back he meets Mary, thin and pathetic, who had tried to kill herself. He takes her and employs her as his secretary. Then he meets Cynthia again..........
