Unsafe Keeping

Driving home one night, Boulder, Colorado, reporter Maxey Burnell--who first appeared in Private Lies--is nearly sideswiped by a runaway van, a teenage prank, according to the police. Soon after, Maxey's landlady is killed in a similar incident, and her distraught grandson asks Maxey to help.
