Missing Gold -
Travel weary army scout Clay Sullivan wants nothing more than to recover a lost gold consignment, then leave army life to settle down on his ranch. He never expected to cross paths with the spirited, spunky Nora-Leigh Dillon. The eccentric schoolmarm not only rides a bicycle scandalizing the staid citizens of Steamboat Bend, Montana, but she wears men's trousers and cuts off her beautiful, long blonde hair.

Dreaming of Adventure -
Nora-Leigh never intended to teach school forever. She isn't even sure she likes children. She longs to experience a different way of life and yearns to travel to exciting places. Clay may well be her last opportunity to escape Steamboat Bend for a few short weeks.

Finding Love -
Clay has a job to do; Nora-Leigh wishes to see the country. She possesses the map that he needs. When they strike a bargain to travel together, neither plans on the misadventures that follow. Nor do they expect to stumble upon an all-consuming love while searching for lost gold.
