Heartbroken that his duty and honour will not allow him to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Darius is cruelly ordered to join the Portuguese fleet as it makes its way into exile in Brazil. He fears that his resolve will weaken when he sees Amelia again but the many dangers a ship of war faces at sea prevents him from being tested.
