Goodbye Goliath

(1983)
A novel by

The entire staff of "The Catherine Call" feared and detested John Robinson the newspaper's huge i'z arrogant general manager. So, when Kiel St James finds his boss with a letter spike thrust through the back of his neck, he is more surprised by the crudeness of the weapon than by the murder.
St James struggles to keep turning out the paper each day while taking it upon himself to check into the off-duty activities of the staff. He finds an embarrassment of riches in the culprit department: the typesetter about to be laid off because of modern technology, the press foreman whose heart condition threatens to lose him his job and all the other employees Robinson goaded once too often. St James soon learns that when viewed with suspicion, everyone, including himself, begins to act like a suspect.
