The Reservist
(2026)(The first book in the Reservist series)
A novel by J N Chaney and Nicholas Sansbury Smith
When the entire military is suddenly wiped out, they call in the Reserves.
Logan Miles was teaching at Avon Park High School when the aliens attacked Earth. He watched it from a bar… and then he got the call.
It's time to report for duty.
Logan is a decorated starship boarding specialist and he fought in the Contact War, but that's exactly what Command needs for the first counterstrike. If the nations of Earth don't get a quick win to shore up morale, the new alien war will be over before it barely begins.
With nearly every military base on the planet burning and most of the fleet dead or under fire, Logan Miles and the few remaining members of his old squad have to dust themselves off and run headfirst into a massacre.
There's no time for training. There's no one left to save them. They are all that stands between us and annihilation. And Logan is the tip of our spear.
He is the Reservist.
Genre: Science Fiction
