A novel by

From bestselling authors Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer comes a new novel about art forgery, gunfire, diner food, and love.

Anna Jones is having a bad day, struggling to keep open the third-rate art museum where she’s the entire education department. Her best friend works there, it provides income so that she can feed her rescue dog, Johnny, and she loves teaching art, so it’s pretty much her whole life. But trouble looms: the head of the museum board wants to close it down, her mother wants her to quit and get married, her fiancé (the museum manager) just dumped her in a ReplyAll e-mail, and then her boss sends her to Atlantic City to deliver a package that she’s not happy about.

Nate Sadler's career just imploded. He’s been reassigned from Counterterrorism after getting shot in a raid gone wrong and now he’s working for the Art Task Force, the FBI’s dumping ground for screw-ups. The idea behind the ATF is that agents will give up and quit, but the problem is, Nate wants his job, so he’s headed to Atlantic City to surveill an illegal art sale, an op he thinks is a complete waste of time.

At least it’s a waste until he meets a redhead who’s having as bad a day as he is. Then the day takes a turn for the different.

As Nate and Anna deal with art forgery, kidnapping, a yappy dog, treachery, deceit, and really good diner food, they begin to realize that starting a relationship, especially one you didn’t know you wanted, is an art in itself.

Arresting Anna: A book about forged art and real love.

Publication will be well before the currently scheduled date as we have a completed manuscript. But we want a good, working draft of book 2, Stealing Nadine, before we go live. That book will also come out in 2026. Along with the third book series.
