She was done, exhausted. Her mind teetering on shutting down almost every second of the day. That last encounter pushing her to her limits. Knowing it was coming, that she needed to back off, she'd taken a walk on the wild side. Done something unimaginable and her father and brother were pissed. Nothing new there then. But she was doing this. She'd bought the place, had it renovated back to its glory days and it would be home. For a while anyway. Until she got herself back together.

Then he walked into her life, her home. Telling her a single woman here wasn't going to work. She had a week to get married or they'd throw her out.
What the hell? Who was she supposed to marry in a week?
