Arizona is California is a travelogue of our 7-week journey from Tucson, Arizona to California and eventually the southern Oregon Coast. We stopped at various locales from Midnight Beach and San Juan Capistrano to the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Then we proceeded to Yosemite through the South Entrance and down to the Wine Country. We took 101 through Redwood Country to our ultimate destination --- Brookings, Oregon. We retraced the same route, leaving out Yosemite. Instead of taking the coastal route through Southern California we drove through the Inland Empire. And before returning to Tucson we spent five days at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale.
This narrative isn't intended to be comprehensive. But the earnest evaluations of places to stay could be valuable to the California traveler. In additon all the hotels, motels, resorts, and cabins we stayed at had one thing in common. They were pet-friendly.
