(2010)
A novel by

This is the saga of Marianna Littlepage, a born James River tobacco princess and heiress of Riverview Plantation, who is forced to flee by the cataclysm of Revolution that destroys her world from the arms of her childhood sweetheart, Will Hardiman, patriot and soldier, into the grasp of the handsome, powerful Henry Shraftesbury, Earl of Wakefield. The Countess finds herself trapped in a gilded cage, pampered and spoiled but miserable with the jealous intrigue of the London beau monde where money means more than love or honor. The more she struggles to free herself, the more deeply she becomes caught until she finds herself in a sink of corruption at the court of the amoral Marie Antoinette of France. She must walk through fire to gain her independence and find true love.
