A young man out in the woods one night sees a fiery meteor fall to the earth nearby. When he goes to find the crater, he encounters a naked young woman walking along a stream bed. She lures him to follow her. He plunges into a deep ravine. She smirks.
Eve Barrymore is driving down her street after a date. Her boyfriend, Drew, pulls up in front of her house. Eve and her best friend, Lacey, have it all planned. Lacey sneaks out of her house and sticks a knife in Drew's tire. Drew complains that there's a flat. Eve asks him up to the front seat to admire the stars while they're waiting for a tow. She wants him to kiss her.
Drew suddenly observes the fiery meteor descending to earth. He leaps out of the car and stares up into the sky. Mr. Barrymore, Eve's father, also wakes up to look at the meteor. Drew and Mr. Barrymore end up on his roof peering through a telescope.
Eve complains to Lacey that it has always been like this. Drew is obsessed with astronomy. Every time they go out on a date, he's gawking at the sky.
Little does Eve know that the sky is painted red with murder that night. Who's the killer? It's certainly not written in the stars.
