What do you get when you can’t outrun your demons, no matter how hard you try?

You get a blurred line between right and wrong, good and evil.

Posie
Posie Tinley was what you’d call privileged. At least, from the outside looking in, that’s what you’d assume. With her parents financially wealthy, her attendance at Regal Academy, then her acceptance into Blaineview College, what did she have to complain about? Not to mention that her best friend came from one of the most powerful families in the county. Yeah, Posie had it made.

However, when the unthinkable happens in college, everything changes, and not just for Posie. Over ten years later, she’s still trying to find her way, though she’s managed to conquer quite a few of her demons. As a counseling specialist at an abuse call center, she sees helping others as her only way out of the darkness, though she finds that she’s no longer afraid of the dark.

Killian
Killian Warrick was what you’d call blessed. At least, from the outside looking in, that’s what you’d assume. With an idyllic childhood, great parents, a loving sister, plenty of friends, and a secured future, the sky really had been the limit for his life. He’d had no complaints, and he had even convinced himself that tragedies only happened to other people. Yeah, Killian had been blessed, no doubt about it.

However, when the unthinkable happens to his sister, everything changes, and he knows that he will never be the same. Over ten years later, he still doesn’t know how to move on, though he’s fooled everyone into thinking that he has. As a generous philanthropist, everyone thinks that he’s a prince among men, and he lets everyone believe it. Only he knows the truth about what he really is.

When you finally find someone that doesn’t care about your dark side…
As a grown adult, Posie is doing her best to live her life as best as she can, but working for Killian Warrick is becoming a distraction that she doesn’t need. As her boss, he should be off-limits, the risks not worth it. Still, when Killian makes his interest in Posie known, she begins to reevaluate the risks.

As a grown adult, Killian is doing his best to remaining professional and respected, but having Posie Tinley working for him is making that impossible to do. As one of his employees, she should be off-limits, the temptation non-existent. Still, when Posie doesn’t immediately refuse his advances, hope blooms.

With the decision to throw caution to the wind, Posie and Killian start on a very dangerous love affair, one that neither of them are prepared for. With Killian determined to have Posie at all costs, he ignores all the red flags, and with Posie determined to overcome her demons, she ignores them, too.

When everything finally comes to a head, secrets are revealed, but those secrets are still not the worst of their problems. A line is drawn in the sand, and on Posie’s side, the Marlows, Reed, McCellans, and McIntires stand with her. On Killian’s side, stands the deadliest Mafia family in the country; The Benettis.
