Cyril Bowers hadn't meant to kill the old man. It was a simple matter of relieving him of a bulging wallet. If the old fool hadn't put up a struggle Cyril wouldn't have hit him. He wasn't to know that his victim was Dandy Jack Westman's father, but Inspector 'Touchy' Miller knew.
